A note on how this site appears in your browser.
(C) Georgia NeSmith 2002 - 2006
This poem is a version of the fairy tale, "Briar Rose," also known as "Sleeping Beauty." It is inspired by a poem with the
same title by Anne Sexton, which is also a far cry from the Disney version with which most people are familiar. This tale is not for children.
"Briar Rose" is divided into four sections, which you can see in full by scrolling down the page. If you wish to see each
section on a separate page, links are provided below. In addition to the actual poem, there are several other images that
belong in this set, titled "In Memoriam, Briar Rose." It is difficult to show the actual layout on a web page without making
the images too small to get the proper effect. While the images can stand alone, they are best viewed in context.
A note on the typography: below are jpeg versions of four separate Photoshop files. In the original, the type does not vary
in size, the way it appears here. I am still working on how to get it to appear accurately.
